The film tells a love and hatred story between Xu Xian, Xu Xun and Guan Yiyun. It was made in China and released on December 12, 2017 by Alibaba Pictures. It was filmed in Nanjing, Suzhou and Changzhou of Jiangsu Province for over 130 sets of sets. The production team also hired all large-scale battle scenes from nine countries including Russia, Hong Kong and United Kingdom with more than 200 people .The movie has grossed more than 1 billion yuan at the box office across East Asia within seven days. In The Qiu Family, a wilful and stubborn girl named Xu Xian marries into a large-scale business family. Together with her three brothers, her father Liu Yuanlong, elder brother Liu Yanjun and younger brother Liu Yunying live together in Nanjing. Years later, she becomes pregnant with a girl, making the family happy except for the elder brother who is upset. He forbids her to find a husband and sends her to a mysterious house where she stays for a few months. On the way back home one day, she meets Dong Chu Xiong from Chu State for the first time and falls in love with him at first sight. However, her family refuses her to marry. She decides to marry Dong instead, but after she makes the decision, Dong has already left for the border area of Yan State. Several years later, Xu Xian is now living in Yan State with her husband Dong Chu Xiong and their daughter Zhang Shuangren (Zhang Tingting) along with his mother-in-law, his two brothers-in-law and their families. The local people respect them very much because they are the only family who salvaged the rice field that was burnt down by flood incident several years ago.
